MAC Barocococa Strobe Face Glaze ($28.00 for 0.5 oz.) has a translucent base with fine, copper and bronze pearl throughout a high-shine, glossy base. The formula is supposed to give the “dewiest, flushed glow” what is “translucent” and “oil-slicked” in look.
It’s best thought of as a tinted, glossy balm for the face with a hint of pearl and a lot of shine/glossiness–just as marketed. As you might expect, it does attract flyaway hairs readily, and the slightly thicker, a little tacky consistency does trap them. It’s a higher-maintenance product, though I know some will love that high-gloss finish, but it may be a better fit for someone looking for a more avant garde effect and not something they’d incorporate into everyday wear for all-day excursions.
The product applied best over bare skin but was workable over foundation, though I’d recommend something with sheerer coverage and a more luminous base. I’d also skip the powder wherever you want to have this on the skin. It lasted for five hours before moving/sliding noticeably on my face.
