Megan Thee Stallion’s Makeup, Skin-Care, and Hair-Care Routines Are Wildly Simple — Interview

Meg has definitely shown that she knows a thing or two about makeup, whether she’s doing her own for a music video or a makeup campaign, as she did back in August 2020. That summer, she was responsible for the silver cut crease and glossy red lips she wore in the Revlon campaign that announced she was the brand’s newest global brand ambassador. She also shared an easy-to-follow makeup tutorial, the first of many to come, that showed how she achieved the look.

In addition to the tutorials and campaigns, she also collaborates with Revlon on makeup collections. Her first collaborative collection, the Revlon x Megan Thee Stallion Hot Girl Sunset Collection, debuted on July 28. Her second collection with the drugstore brand, the Big Bad Beauty Looks Collection, hits shelves on September 15. It features the Revlon x Megan Thee Stallion 10-pan Big Bad Eye Shadow Palette ($15), plus six of Meg’s favorite pre-existing eyeliners and mascaras from the brand.

As an ambassador for the makeup brand, Meg feels like she’s almost become a pro. “I definitely haven’t gotten all the lingo of makeup down because I literally just get it on my face and do whatever I want to do,” she shares. “But l feel [that working for the brand has] definitely inspired me to get better.”

Although she hasn’t worked with many makeup artists, she has picked up a few tricks of the trade. She didn’t want to spill them all because, admittedly, she’s still trying to master a few. But one tip she learned from both Ono and Lauren is using eye shadow to map out her eyeliner. “They’ll start mapping out my eyeliner with eye shadow, then they go over it with a pencil,” Megan explains. At first, she didn’t believe the technique would produce the dramatic and sharp cat-eye she loves, but once the makeup artists did it, she was amazed. She was so used to “doing the most” to achieve the sharpest wings, so she’s grateful to have learned some shortcuts.

If you’ve been following Thee Stallion for a while, you’ve probably noticed her affinity for cut creases, too. Her secret to mastering the technique is just to follow the shape of her eye and make sure the liner and shadows are super sharp. “And I always want to make it seem like my eye is a little bit longer than what it actually is,” she says.

Although cut creases are her go-to, the pandemic helped spur her to look into new and more striking makeup looks. “I’ve watched more makeup tutorials to figure out, ‘What can I do next? What do I want to do to spice it up?'” she shares. Much of her focus these days has been on softer-looking eye makeup, eyeliner, and techniques that make her brows look more natural.
