The Met Gala 2021’s Best Beauty Moments — Photos

Typically, the Met Gala commences on the first Monday in May; however, the big event was pushed back this year, leaving us to celebrate fashion’s biggest night out today, Monday, September 13. The Met Gala 2021 follows a major week of jaw-dropping looks in New York City with New York Fashion Week and the VMAs. With stars, like Kacey Musgraves, Lil Nas X, and Billie Eilish, in town already, they are bringing their best takes on the 2021 Met Gala theme — In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion — to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

For those wondering how American fashion translates to hair and makeup, well, we put together a list of our favorite beauty moments from the 2021 Met Gala’s cream carpet for you to peruse. You’re sure to be surprised by how these celebrities brought U.S.A. vibes to their looks beyond red, white, and blue.

New mom Ilana Glazer looked absolutely radiant on the cream carpet with flushed cheeks, dewy skin, and shimmery champagne eye makeup. The comedian’s signature curls were on full display as springy and defined as ever in a blunt bob.

For her first time at the Met Gala, Emma Chamberlain brought ’70s vibes along with her. Hairstylist Laura Polko gave the YouTube star retro flipped ends while makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan gave a classic smoky eye look groovy, neon green accents along Chamberlain’s lash line and inner corners to echo the shimmery material of her bedazzled mini dress.

Keke Palmer also went the throwback route with ‘70s diva vibes, complete with voluminous Diana Ross curls, dramatic bronzed eye makeup, and gorgeous terracotta blush. We can’t take our eyes off the golden highlights around her lips, though. What an incredible touch to the entire gilded look.
