ColourPop Scrunchie & Docs Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes Reviews & Swatches

ColourPop Scrunchie Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a rich, deeper red with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and mousse-like, which gave it a velvety feel that was spreadable and comfortable to wear.

The liquid lipstick had full color coverage in a single layer of product, so you’ll have to use less to achieve the buildable coverage marketed. It lasted well for six hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.24 oz. – $33.33 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be a “hybrid” product that has the “colour of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm” in a “creamy matte finish.” They described the coverage as “buildable.” They feature a flexible, doe-foot applicator that has a more rounded side and a more slanted, triangular side (the latter worked well for getting crisper lines of color).

The product had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single pull of product, though one could certainly use just one side’s worth of the applicator product to achieve sheerer, more buildable coverage if desired.

The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread across my lips and kept it comfortable to wear. It wasn’t clingy, but there was a bit of adhesion without tackiness, the kind I tend to find is present with more velvety, silicone-heavy formulas like this one.

It has a more cream-like finish that wears down to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don’t have a full dry-down, so they are not transfer-resistant or ultra long-wearing. They lasted between four and six hours with deeper, more red-toned shades tending to last the longest and leaving behind light stains. They were lightly hydrating over time. There didn’t appear to be a scent, and there was no taste.

They are much lighter-weight and less “wet” in feel going on initially compared to the brand’s prior Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered more and was very long-wearing, and while not initially transfer-resistant, it was more transfer-resistant after an hour or two of wear.

ColourPop Docs Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.)is a deep brown with subtlew, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture was thicker and denser, though not heavy to wear, compared to most shades in the range; it was whipped and mousse-like with less slip.

It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was somewhat buildable, though overall seemed like more coverage than marketed. The color wore well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.
