Why The Dutch Don’t Wear Helmets Cycling


It’s pretty well-known that the Dutch are big on cycling. It’s the most common form of personal transportation in The Netherlands, and the image of hundreds of cyclists riding the streets of Amsterdam is seared into all of our minds at this point.

But, have you ever noticed that very few Dutch cyclists wear helmets?

YouTube Channel Propel explains how designated bike lanes, bicycle education, and rider awareness make the Dutch feel safe while commuting on their bicycles.

This video is a really good watch and inadvertently highlights problems we have here back home. American’s reliance on automobiles is astounding, and we could learn a thing or two from the Dutch.
