Florida-based esports organisation Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) has announced a strategic partnership with esports betting company and WIN.gg founder WIN Group.
According to the release, the partnership will see both entities work together to expand its reach in the esports marketplace.
Stephen Shoemaker, WIN Group CEO, commented: “We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to work with MGG. Its roster of talent is outstanding, and we know that these teams and individuals will shine on our platforms and in connecting with our audience.”
As a result of the deal, MGG talent will be promoted across platforms owned by WIN Group. This includes esports publication WIN.gg and a variety of WIN Group’s social media channels. The showcases will reportedly include new and creative activations that will connect MGG’s talent with WIN.gg’s user base.
MGG’s roster of talent includes League of Legends, Overwatch and Call of Duty athletes, as well as a number of gaming influencers.
Ben Spoont, CEO of Misfits Gaming Group, stated: “WIN Group has an outstanding distribution network and has proven itself a leader in the esports media and the esports betting space in a short period of time.
“We’re proud of this partnership and we’re excited for the future of it.”
The announcement follows on from the hiring of Stephen Shoemaker as WIN Group’s new CEO earlier this month.
Esports Insider says: Considering WIN Group’s broad reach, this distinguished partnership is likely to bring Misfits Gaming Group a lot of publicity and therefore potential growth. Expanding its influence, the organisation has recently also launched The Misfits Agency, a media company designed to help brands enter into the gaming and esports sector.
