Washington D.C. Giving Away Free AirPods To Encourage Teens To Get Vaccinated

AirPodsAround the world, many countries are rolling out the vaccine for COVID-19, but it seems that there are some people who are holding off on getting it. There are many reasons why, which we won’t go into or debate, but over in Washington D.C., it seems that the local government is trying to get more teens to get vaccinated.

According to a report from the Hill, one of the incentives that they are rolling out is that teens who get vaccinated will be able to get themselves a free pair of AirPods. There are several conditions that teens will need to meet in order to be eligible. This includes their vaccination being the first shot, they must have a parent or legal guardian there with them, and they need to bring identification in the form of their school ID, DC One Card, Kids Ride Free card, a report card, or proof of enrollment.

DC is not alone in trying to incentivize their residents from getting vaccinated. There are other places around the US in which state governments are giving out cash prizes and gifts to try and attract people to get vaccinated if they haven’t done so already.

The reason behind this push is because of the COVID-19 variants that happen as a result of increasing infections, in which the variants are mutating to become even more infectious, like the Delta variant which is the current dominant strain that’s affecting countries around the world.
